Japan Business Federation”Keidanren” has released a proposal of encouraging the acceptance of foreign workers

Keirdanren, Japan Business Federation has released a proposal “Fundamental Approach to Facilitating Employment of Workers from Overseas.”

The summary of this is as follow.
1. Improve points-based system for highly skilled professionals
2. Loosen the residence requirements for obtaining permanent residency
3. Bolster support for international students seeking employment
4. Target a broader range of workers for intra-company transfers
5. Longer duration of residence for foreign employees from overseas in the manufacturing industry
6. Keeping the Technical Intern Training Program in construction and shipbuilding fields till 2021.
7. Offering a residential status to a skilled worker like who have an experience of 5 years Technical Intern Training Program.
8. Add nursing care category to the Technical Intern Training Program
9. Encourage active workforce participation by EPA-based care worker candidates
10. Expand employment of housekeeping workers from overseas

Keidanren is one of the large pressure group in japan. These proposal will make an influence to the government policy so we will keep on eye on it.
