Who is able to apply?
Person who is going to engage in the operation or management of a public or private organization in Japan. Like Entrepreneurs and Managers.
What kind of requirements?
Investor VISA do not have requirements of academic backgrounds or experience. Only the investment amount and independent office from the residence. Advanced business requires as follows.
1. Academic background / Higher than bachelor’s degree or equivalent
2. Professional career / Longer than 3 years
3. Annual salary / Higher than 3million yen. Point is counted from 10million
4. Some other bonus points
Poisson accepted in the organization / Higher than director or executive officer
Degree of Japanese University
N1 of the Japanese-Language Proficiency or equivalent or graduated from a foreign university with a major in the Japanese language
If you have a bachelor’s degree and have 3-year business career and higher than 3million yen and hired as a director or executive officer, You may have a chance to get this status.

You are qualified if you score over 70 point.
The advantages of this status are as follows.
1. Permission for multiple activities
Usually, a foreign national is only allowed to engage in the activities permitted under a single status of residence. However, a highly skilled foreign professional may engage in activities covered by multiple statuses of residence. Like research and business management.
2. Grant of the “5 years”period of stay
Investor Manager Status starts from 1 year
3. Easing of requirements for permanent residence
Government is willing to shorten it to 1 year.
4. Permission for the spouse of the highly skilled foreign professional to work
Investor Manager Visa can invite but not allowed to work.
5. Permission for bringing a parent(s) to accompany the highly-skilled foreign professional to Japan under certain conditions
This is the privilege of the highly skilled professional’s status
6. Permission for a domestic worker to accompany the highly-skilled professional to Japan under certain conditions
7. Preferential processing of entry and residence procedures
Highly skilled professional’s VISA application procedure is processed faster than others. Other status takes 1 or 2 month but this status takes only 10 days.
