Foreigners House keeper will have requirements to their employers.

1. Residential status
Must be Management and administration, legal and accounting, or highly skilled professionals.
2. Family requirements
Have children under 13 years of age. Or the spouse is disable to engage in household chores by disease or other reason.
3. Compensation requirements
150,000 yen per month or more

If the employer has returned to their home country. The employee, the housekeeper will not be able to renew their residential status. Immigration bureau will suggest to apply for departure preparation status which allows to stay 30 days.

The employer’s company is looking for another employer to hire her but it was not sure that the Immigration bureau will accept the application when the applicant is in departure preparation period.

According to the Immigration Bureau, They say they accept the application in the departure period.

But the schedule will be tight so please prepare early for your residential status renewal.
